Last We Saw Of Each Other

88” x 35”

Resin on vinyl on wood tiles and panel

There’s nothing unusual about this panorama shot from 1971, but that’s the charm of it. A lone man walking down the centre of the road, a woman walking away from him. A curious onlooker peering from a window. A moment in time captured by an anonymous photographer who understood the simple beauty of a quiet Parisienne street.

Made from over 200 individually cut and hand-finished squares, then re-assembled on random angles to cast ever-changing reflections. The original negative was discovered in a brocante in a small village near Nantes, France.
