At its peak Pantry pride had over 500 stores across the U.S., but when business slowed down in the late 1970s it began laying off employees and shutting down stores. The last store was closed in 2000.
This 4” x 5” negative transparency was uncovered in Jacksonville, Florida where the first Pantry Pride was opened in 1957.
The digitally enhanced image was printed on vinyl, applied to a wood panel and finished with 4 coats of hand-poured epoxy resin for a brilliant shine and smooth surface.
