This image was spotted in a thrift shop in Eugene Oregon and quickly snapped up due to its composition - colourful classic 1950s signage set against the recognizable backdrop of Highway 10 running through Palm Desert, California.

Was the photographer, like many people at the time, running away from their past to the warm embrace of California?

Each piece consists of hand-poured resin on vinyl and re-purposed wood blinds, then applied to wood panel.
